At this point, while the band took a break, Jerry Hahn of the CAF announced the winners of the costume contest and honored all veterans and active military personnel. After about 5 minutes of dead time, the run-up of the engines of Miss Mitchell, the B-25 bomber, started at 9:00.

At 9:15, after the bomber engine run-up, the Minnesota State Fire Service Memorial Pipe Band marched in, performed these selections with the Roseville Big Band and marched out again:

Terry and Cindy from TC Swing gave free swing dance lessons from 7:00 to 7:50. About 600 people attended the dance, many for the first time, based on the number who raised their hands when Terry asked the lesson attendees how many had never done any swing dancing.
