George's silver trombone sat on its stand as he played in the horn quartet with Gerry Abraham, Bob Olsen, and Bridget Wall at the July 11, 2006, rehearsal. The French horn section sat in two rows.

Before joining the Roseville Big Band, George played trombone in the Century College Concert Band and French horn in the Shoreview Northern Lights Variety Band.

George is a former member of the St. Anthony Civic Orchestra. For a short time in the late 1970's, he and Roseville Big Band director Glen Newton constituted half of the orchestra's French horn section. George first played French horn in a Roseville Big Band concert on August 1, 2006.

Starting in May, 2003, George held the second trombone chair in the Roseville Big Band, filling in for Fred Christiansen, who was on leave of absence. Upon Fred's retirement from the band in July, 2003, George continued as the regular second trombonist in the band.

George currently plays trombone in several other jazz-oriented groups, including the 7 Cats Jazz, Andrew Walesch Big Band and the Twin Cities Jazz Cats.
