Amazing Grace

Lynn Ista, bagpipe soloist. Bagpiper Lynn Ista played the first verse of "Amazing Grace" as a solo, then was joined by the Roseville Big Band for two more verses.

In past years, the Minnesota Pipes and Drums had on several occasions performed "Amazing Grace" with the Roseville Big Band at Confederate Air Force dances. The September 22, 2001, Bomber's Moon Ball once again featured "Amazing Grace", this time with solo piper Lynn Ista joining the band. The selection was a tribute to those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The Minnesota State Fire Service Memorial Pipe Band played Amazing Grace with the Roseville Big Band at the Spring 2007 Commemorative Air Force hangar dance, as the third of three joint pipe and band selections.

For the May 29, 2007, concert at the Como Park Lakeside Pavilion and the June 12, 2007, concert in Central Park, the Minnesota State Fire Service Memorial Pipe Band played Amazing Grace, entering from one direction one the second verse after Lynn Ista, who is the band's pipe major, played the first verse. The band joined on the third verse.
