Registration opened at 6:30, and guests enjoyed a Cocktail Hour in the Great River Ballroom. At 7:30, the emcee announced that the Roseville Big Band is now playing in the Minnesota Ballroom for their dancing and listening pleasure. At 7:50 the emcee invited everyone to move down the escalators to the Minnesota Ballroom.

Vocalist Diane Dolinar and her sister Kathy Roberts, director of catering at the Radisson Riverfront in St. Paul, posed outside the entrance to the Minnesota Ballroom.
Dancers filled the dance floor as the band played before dinner.
