Year 2002 Roseville Big Band Public Dances:

Saturday, March 9: Putting On the Ritz at the Roseville Area High School, fundraising dance for the RAHS music program in the RAHS cafeteria at 1240 West County Road B-2 in Roseville, 8:00-11:30 p.m.; adults $10, students with ID $5 at the door. Doors open at 6:30; free beginning dance lessons from 7:00-7:45 by Carol and Norm Fritchie; free refreshments. Friday, April 26:Spring Rhapsody: An Evening in New York, fundraising dinner and dance for Lyngblomsten Foundation, at the Prom Center Ballroom, 484 Inwood Avenue, Oakdale. Reception 6:30 with live piano music by Glen Newton, dinner 7:30, and dance 9:00-11:30. Entertainment by Lorna Landvik, author of Patty Jane's House of Curl. Tickets $125/plate or higher. Saturday, May 18:USO Dance sponsored by the Commemorative Air Force, in hangar #3 at Fleming Field in S. Saturday, September 21: Bomber's Moon Ball sponsored by the Commemorative Air Force, in hangar #3 at Fleming Field in S. Saturday, November 23: Children's Hospital Association Fifty-third Annual Ball at the Radisson Riverfront in St. Paul. Entertainment by the Rhythm & Swing dancers starting at 6:30. Dinner and dance music by the Roseville Big Band in the Minnesota Ballroom. Dessert buffet in the Garden Court, and dancing until 1:00 a.m. in the Great River Ballroom to the music of Cookie Coleman of Club Lucky. Year 2002 Roseville Big Band Public Concerts:

Friday, March 22: Raider Jazz Festival; concert begins at 6:30 p.m. with jazz bands from Roosevelt Middle School and other schools from Anoka-Hennepin district 11 and perhaps even more. The Roseville Big Band will perform last, starting some time between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Roosevelt Middle School is located at 650 NE Main Street, Blaine, MN. Click here for directions. Thursday, July 4: Concert in the Park at Roseville Central Park band shell, corner of Lexington and Co. Rd. C, 7:00 p.m., featuring the Rhythm & Swing dancers; followed by the Roseville Community Band at 8:30 p.m. and fireworks at dusk. Click here to see the song list. Tuesday, April 16, in the cafeteria at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 1660 W. Co. Rd. B in Roseville, about a block and a half west of Snelling Ave. N., 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Tuesday, October 8, in the cafeteria at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Part of the group in the choir room on sit-in night.
