We played from 9 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5. The song list is missing and the list of songs to have ready is from the 2001 dance so might have been different in 2000. From the pictures, we can see that we at least played Cha Cha Cha for Judy; La Bamba; Sing, Sing, Sing; and Hot Cha Cha Cha.
The Northern Lights DJ Service played in Poseidon’s domain, Lynn Deichart’s group played in Hades (the room below us), and we played in the Garden at the top of Mt. Olympus (the Great Hall in Severance Hall on the west edge of the campus).
Roseville Big Band performers (based on the picture of the band) for this dance:
Saxes: Kay Foster, Bill Frank, Glen Peterson, Dan Desmonds, and Bill Pearson
Trumpets: Mark Lee, Harvey Skow, Kim Kermes, and Bob Nielsen
Trombones: Mike Bratlie, Fred Christiansen (?), Rich Eyman, and Keith Miner
Rhythm: Brian Dole (?) (piano), Carl Berger (guitar), Steve Goranson (bass), and Jim Foster (drums)
Vocal: Karen Dunn, Glen Newton, and Keith Miner
The formula Carleton requested: 1-2 waltzes, 1-2 tangos, 1-2 cha-chas, 1-2 rhumbas, 1 meringue/mambo/salsa/W.C. swing, 5-7 fox trot/swing; they left out polkas, but polkas were popular at the dance. Of course, all the songs in our book were available on request, but the ones below were categorized for those dancers who wanted a style but didn't know specific titles.
