Chris Knapp

Chris first performed with the Roseville Big Band at the Spring, 2010, Commemorative Air Force Dance. He plays both alto and tenor sax.

From 1990 to 1992 he played with the University of MN, Morris, Jazz I Big Band under the direction of Jim 'Doc' Carlson. With this group, he had the opportunity to play in in the Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland, and to play as the opening band for the Count Basie Orchestra in Carnegie Hall.

Since then, he has played in the North Hennipen Community College Big Band, CJ's Big Band, Streetside Rhythm (an R&B band with a power horn section), and Beasley's Big Band.

From around 1998 to 2010, Chris has played regularly with the Rod Cerar Orchestra (previously the Jim Sturm Orchestra) which performs regularly at the Medina Ballroom, the MN State Fair, and various private dances and parties.
