covered with lawn chairs and blankets. Audience members who are still arriving
walk from nearby neighborhoods. The volunteer public access television crew
is in place, as are the volunteer musicians behind the red and white stands
in the band shell. At the cue from the television floor director, the band leader
gives the countoff for Rock Around the Clock. As the band softens down during
the first chorus, he addresses the audience:
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Roseville's beautiful
Central Park. My name is Glen Newton, and we are the Roseville Big Band!"
