In Memory of Ira Adelman (November 14, 1941 - May 29, 2022)

Ira stands to solo on tenor sax. Ira played a solo on "It's Been A Long, Long Time" at the September 15, 2007, Commemorative Air Force Dance.

Ira plays alto and tenor saxes. He first performed with the Roseville Big Band at the Beacon Hill Retirement Community Ice Cream Social, June 11, 2005.

If you lived in the Burlington area between 1959 and 1964, you might remember Ira playing in the University of Vermont Catamouts Jazz Combo.

In 2003, he formed Ira's Jazz Quintet (piano, guitar, bass, drums, and sax) which played at coffee shops, bars, and private parties in the Twin Cities and Northfield.

In 2010 after Ira’s Jazz Quintet disbanded, he formed another quintet, Optimum Trajectory, which played for 7 years at similar locations as the Jazz Quintet. Subsequently he formed another quintet, Jazz Faithful, which performed the first Monday of the month at the Underground Music Cafe in Falcon Heights as well as at other special events.
