Ira plays alto and tenor saxes. He first performed with the Roseville Big Band at the Beacon Hill Retirement Community Ice Cream Social, June 11, 2005.
If you lived in the Burlington area between 1959 and 1964, you might remember Ira playing the University of Vermont Catamouts Jazz Combo. You might also remember him playing "new music" in a 5-piece group led by John O'Brien in the early '80's in St. Paul.
In 2003, he formed Ira's Jazz Quintet (piano, guitar, bass, drums, and sax) which plays at coffee shops, bars, and private parties in the Twin Cities and Northfield.
