Dan studied saxophone at the University of Minnesota in the 1970s. He returned to actively performing on saxophone around 2012.
Dan also plays in the Big Stoop Big Band and the Lex-Ham Community Band.
In addition to saxophones, Dan plays piano and several plucked string instruments: 5-string banjo, guitar, and ukulele.
You might have seen Dan performing in a different context between 1995 and 2005. He performed locally, regionally, and internationally with the Wild Goose Chase Cloggers.
Dan's first performance with the Roseville Big Band was the recording of the Ukrainian National Anthem at the March 8, 2022, rehearsal.
