Kirk also sings tenor in the Augustana Lutheran Church choir. You may also have seen him in the title role of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at Como Park pavilion in 1995 and 1996.
Kirk was a charter member of the Great Northern Union barbershop chorus (http://gnusings.com/) in 1985 and was their second barbershopper of the year. You can see him in this 1990 video of one of their songs that won GNU 5th place and their first international medal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sbk9xzmGRCE. Kirk dropped out after a while, which gave him time to sing in the Rosetones, rejoining the chorus early in 2012. He is once again one of the stalwarts of the lead section of the chorus as well as the chorus presidnet. In the 2012 international competition, the Great Northern Union, with Kirk in the center of the second row, received a score of 2850 – their highest score ever in an international competition.
You might also remember Kirk singing lead in two district champion quartets: Little Rascals, who were international quarter-finalists, and Celebration, who were international semi-finalists. Jim Emery sang baritone in both of those quartets.
Kirk wrote his first original composition in 2002 a benediction to be sung at the end of services for his church.
