The band, formed 35 years ago, is funded by the City of Roseville. Glen Newton, the group's leader, plays trumpet, trombone, vibes and tenor sax and does most of the vocal arrangements. The band plays numerous concerts at Roseville's Central Park during the summer, and two hangar dances a year for the Confederate Air Force at Fleming Field in St. Paul. The band's next gig is a swing dance at 7:30 p.m. on March 4 at the Tapestry Folk Dance Center, 3748 Minnehaha Ave. in Minneapolis. CDs may be ordered by calling Newton at (651) 688-9504.
