Roseville Big Band 2001 Business Card

Parks and Recreation office at 1114 Woodhill Drive in Roseville

The front of the card gives essential information about the Roseville Big Band. The back applies to all of the programs sponsored by the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department, including the Roseville Big Band.

The Roseville Parks and Recreation department is one of the few that have achieved accreditation from CAPRA, a branch of the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA). In 1994, Roseville Parks and Recreation was one of eight communities nationwide to receive national accreditation for park and recreation activities. In 1998, Roseville completed the re-accreditation process, meeting 152 of 154 standards of excellence. Then in 2004, Roseville Parks and Recreation achieved a perfect score in their NRPA re-accreditation, achieving 100% on 156 standards of excellence. Few, if any, other parks and recreation systems in the nation have achieved this high standard.

The National Sporting Goods Association gives annual national awards to the recreation departments that are the best in the nation for each population class. Roseville is in class 4 (30,000 - 50,000 people). Roseville Parks and Recreation had previously been a finalist for this prestigious award, and in 2000 the department received the gold medal as the best in the nation for class 4.
