January 1 (Tuesday): No rehearsal

January 8, 2002 (Tuesday): Concert at Little Sisters of the Poor, 330 S. Exchange, St. Paul, MN; contact is Linda Swanson, the activities coordinator (651-227-0336); we play in the Holy Family Residence, which is the brick building in front of the 5-story white building. (Ann's aunt gave the address as 86 Wilkin St.; from MapQuest, it looks like 330 S. Exchange is at the corner of Exchange and Wilkin, overlooking the river.)

From the North: Take 35E to 10th&Wacouta Exit, and turn right (West) on E. 7th St. Go past Excel Energy Center. Turn left on Ramsey, then go 1 block to Exchange, turn right, and go one block on Exchange. The parking lot should be available by 6:30, but there's also on-street parking.

From the South: Take 35E north to the Grand Ave., exit; turn right and go past Smith Ave.. and past West 7th. (It looks like Grand becomes Ramsey St. when it crosses W. 7th St.) Turn right on Exchange and go 1 block to the building.

January 15, 2002 (Tuesday): Rehearse

January 22, 2002 (Tuesday): Annual get-together at Mike Bratlie's house; arrive at 6:30 for 7:00 dinner, but come as early as 5:00 "to play pool and drink beer" says Mike. BYOB, but the band will cover the food and soft drinks.

January 29, 2002 (Tuesday): Rehearse

February 2, 2002 (Saturday): Carleton dance; play 9 P.M. -1:00 A.M. (A charter bus will take us to Northfield, as in the past, picking up passengers at St. Michael's Church and the Eagan Park & Ride on Cliff Road). Click here for the song list.

February 12 (Tuesday): Rehearse

February 19 (Tuesday): Joint rehearsal (at our place) with River City Jazz Orchestra

June 1, 2002 (Saturday): Play for Bob Nielsen's son's wedding reception at the Prom Center in Oakdale, just off I-94 and Radio Drive. The band will play from 8-12. We need a couple of volunteers to help Bob set up the band equipment in the morning. Groom-Heikke Nielsen, Bride-Sylvie Roberge. Bob says, "Sylvie and my wife went to the tapestry gig [April 7, 2001] to hear the band; Sylvie was very impressed and was excited that we are playing for their wedding." September 21 (Saturday): CAF Bomber's Moon Ball; they said they've been holding these dances since 1975, but I think Lancette started them, so it would be 1976 at the earliest.

October 27 (Sunday afternoon): 4:00 p.m. concert at Augustana Lutheran in West St. Paul (Kirk and Diane's church).

November 5, 12, 19: Rehearse

November 23 (Saturday): Fundraiser for Children's Hospital, 7:30-9:30 or 10:00 at Radisson Riverfront in St. Paul, in the Minnesota Ballroom. Contact: Peggy Radio - (651) 490-1362. Schedule for the evening: 6:30-7:15 - guests arrive and register while Rhythm & Swing perform in the Garden Court; 7:30-8:00 dance lessons with Terry and Cindy, with RBB playing for them; Dinner served starting at 8:00, and R&S will perform to pre-recorded accompaniment while we take a break; 8:30 - 9:30 or 10:00 dance with us playing.
