Drew LaFave

Drew soloed on "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most" with the Roseville Big Band on the July 27, 1999, concert in the Central Park band shell. He also augmented the saxophone section on several selections by playing lead alto sax while Kay Foster switched to bass sax.

A 1999 graduate of Roseville Area High School (RAHS), Drew played lead alto sax in all levels of jazz ensemble until his senior year, when he switched to lead tenor sax. He also played alto and soprano sax in the RAHS Symphonic Band for three years.

Drew also sang in musicals from 7th grade on. For example, you might remember him as Bill Sikes in "Oliver" or in the title role in "Phantom of the Opry".

Drew also performed and recorded with Hektor and the Gas Giants. His compositions and arrangements include some that are on the band's CD, such as "The Man with the Gold Pocketwatch".

Drew is currently majoring in music at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
