Member during:

1994 through 1999

Occupation:

Dance Instructor and Entrepreneur

Many dancers in the Twin Cities know Cindy as one of the premiere swing dance teachers in the area, but other audience members know that she is also an accomplished vocalist who has sung with the Roseville Big Band on numerous occasions, including singing very often with the band from 1994 through 1999. Cindy returned as a guest vocalist for a performance at the Tapestry Folkdance Center on March 4, 2000.

Cindy has taught swing dance since 1979 to tens of thousands of students. She has also choreographed for Moorhead State University, Macalester College, and the City of Lakes Chapter of Sweet Adelines. She is founder, director and principal choreographer for the high-energy swing dance performance team, Rhythm & Swing, which has performed numerous times with the Roseville Big Band, and for the new swing dance performance group, TC Swing Cats.

As TC Swing, Cindy and Terry Gardner often give the swing dance lessons that precede Roseville Big Band dances, and they are the promoters and organizers for the First Saturday Swing dances at Tapestry Folkdance Center, for which the Roseville Big Band has played. They also reach over 300 students weekly in local classes and regional workshops and are the producers of Sving du Nord, hosting world-renowned instructors.

Cindy and Terry are the featured instructors on a three-volume set, "Swing Session with a Live Band - Swing Dance Instructional Video" from Rock-Step Productions.
