Carleton 2010: Winter

The Roseville Big Band performed at the Carleton College Mid-Winter Dance, February 6, 2010. Dancers and listeners enjoyed the wide variety of music the band played.

Students played Latin percussion instruments on "Hot Cha Cha Cha," "Besame Mucho" and "El Cumbanchero."
Carleton Senior Maia Rodriguez sang "Ain't Misbehavin'" with the band.   Mark Syman played a flugelhorn solo in his first performance with the Roseville Big Band.
Tenor saxophonists Dan Desmonds and Glen Peterson played solos.
Vocalists Keith Miner, Karen Dunn, and Glen Newton belted out the lyrics; Brian Dole, John Preston, and Mike Bratlie played instrumental solos.

The Roseville Big Band rhythm section: Dave Tuenge on drums, Ann Booth on piano, Mike Wobig on electric bass, and Carl Berger on guitar. Ann soloed on "Satin Doll."

Downstairs, students enjoyed the music of a combo led by faculty member trumpeter Lynn Deichert.
